Several labourers feared dead after explosion at illegal coal mine in Meghalaya

Several labourers are feared dead after an explosion at a suspected illegal coal mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district on Thursday. One injured worker has been taken to a nearby primary health centre. The blast occurred in the Thangsku area during morning hours. Police have sought help from State Disaster Response Force to carry out rescue operations.
