Severe flooding and landslides displace thousands in southern Peru

Southern Peru is facing catastrophic flooding, landslides due to persistent rainfall, which has resulted in the deaths of a father and son. The Ica, Arequipa regions are particularly affected, with approximately 5,500 homes damaged and widespread evacuations. Emergency declarations have been issued, rescue teams are working to clear the impacted areas amidst ongoing severe weather conditions.
