Shakespeare's first collection of plays sells for record ₹73 crore

A copy of the first collection of plays by William Shakespeare printed in 1623 sold for $9.97 million (₹73 crore) at a Christie's auction in New York on Wednesday, setting a new record for a work of literature. The 'First Folio' containing 36 plays was bought by American private collector Stephan Loewentheil. It was compiled by two of Shakespeare's friends.
