Shambhu border sealed as farmers head to Delhi to oppose India-US deal

The Haryana Police on Tuesday sealed Shambhu border point to prevent farmers from travelling to Delhi to participate in the proposed Kisan Mahapanchayat against the proposed India-US trade deal. A large number of farmers have gathered at the border. Farmers stated that the deal could allow cheaper agricultural imports into India, which they fear would adversely impact domestic farmers' incomes.
