Shankar Chaudhary unanimously elected as Speaker of Gujarat Assembly

BJP MLA Shankar Chaudhary was unanimously elected as the Speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly during the first session of the 15th state Assembly on Tuesday. Further, six-time MLA Jethabhai Ahir (Bharwad) was elected as the Deputy Speaker. Congress and Aam Aadmi Party supported the nominations of the two legislators. Chaudhary had served as a state minister between 2014 and 2017.
