Shareholders approve Tesla's acquisition of SolarCity

The respective shareholders of Elon Musk-led Tesla and solar panel-making company SolarCity on Thursday approved Tesla's acquisition of the latter at reportedly $2 billion. In June this year, Musk had first offered to buy SolarCity for $2.6 billion. Notably, SolarCity is founded by Musk's cousin Lyndon Rive.
