Shelton wins Canadian Open for 2nd straight yr, gets ₹11 cr prize money

American tennis player Ben Shelton won the Canadian Open for a second straight year, defeating his compatriot Brandon Nakashima 6-3, 7-6(4) in the men's singles final on Thursday. With the victory, the 23-year-old claimed his second Masters 1000 title and seventh career title. Shelton earned $1,151,420 (nearly ₹11 crore) in prize money, while Nakashima took home $612,340 (around ₹5.8 crore).
