Shettar who quit BJP to join Congress loses from Hubli-Dharwad-Central

BJP candidate Mahesh Tenginakai has won the Hubli-Dharwad-Central seat in the Karnataka Assembly elections against former CM and Congress candidate Jagadish Shettar by a margin of 34,289 votes. This comes as Congress has taken the lead over BJP in the state. Shettar had resigned from the BJP in April after being denied a ticket for the state Assembly elections.
