Shimla municipal body fines man ₹11 lakh for illegally cutting 110 trees

Shimla Municipal Corporation imposed a ₹11 lakh fine on a person for cutting over 110 trees on his private land in Panthaghati without obtaining mandatory permission. Around 25 trees were large-sized. The Additional Commissioner's court noted that permission from the Forest Department is required even for trees on private land.
