A ship exploded in the Strait of Hormuz after it deviated from the navigation route designated by Iran. Local media Tehran Times said that the tanker hit a naval mine and exploded. Iran had previously warned that any vessel departing from the officially designated route "would bear full responsibility for the consequences of its actions".
