'Shoot at sight' order issued for extreme cases in violence-hit Manipur

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey authorised all concerned authorities to issue 'Shoot at sight' orders in extreme cases in the violence-hit state. As per the order, 'Shoot at sight' can be resorted to when persuasion, warning and reasonable force "have been exhausted and the situation could not be controlled". Clashes broke out across Manipur between tribals and the majority Meitei community.
