Shoppers shun Kangra markets during ‘inauspicious’ period

Nurpur, Jassur, Kotla, Indora, Jawali, Fatehpur and Rehan's markets look deserted ever since the period 'auspicious' for organising family ceremonies and solemnising marriages ended on December 12. Vendors are reeling under financial stress after an enduring and rewarding marriage season. According to shopkeepers, the 'inauspicious' period of 50 days starting December 12 would end on January 31.
