Short course world record in 50m backstroke set by Canada's MacNeil
Canada's Maggie MacNeil on Monday set a short course world record in the women's 50m backstroke, winning the gold medal at the World Swimming Championships in Abu Dhabi. MacNeil shaved 0.33 seconds off the previous world record of 25.60. "If you would have told me my first world record would be backstroke, I wouldn't have believed you," she said.
