Shubman Gill has become the second-fastest Indian to score 1,000 runs as Test captain, taking 15 innings. Gill completed his 1,000 runs as captain on Day 1 of the one-off Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh on Saturday. Sunil Gavaskar holds the record for being the fastest Indian to score 1,000 runs as Test captain, taking 14 innings.
