Shubman Gill becomes fastest Indian batter to reach 1,000 runs in ODI cricket history

Opener Shubman Gill, who registered his second consecutive ODI hundred today in the match against New Zealand, has become the fastest Indian batter to reach 1,000 runs in ODI cricket history. The 23-year-old took 19 innings to reach the 1,000-run mark in ODIs. He broke the previous record of 24 innings jointly held by Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
