Siddaramaiah quotes actor Rajkumar after resigning as K'taka CM, says 'Voters are gods'

Siddaramaiah, who resigned as Karnataka CM on Thursday, quoted legendary Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar in his speech. "The great actor...used to [say] 'abhimani devaru' (fans are gods)," he said, adding, "I am a politician. The Constitution is my religion. For me, [it is] 'matadara devaru' (voters are gods)." Siddaramaiah holds the record of being the longest-serving CM of Karnataka.
