Sikkim celebrates Pang Lhabsol, honouring its guardian deity
Sikkim celebrated Pang Lhabsol on August 28, one of its most revered festivals dedicated to Mount Khangchendzonga, regarded as the state's guardian deity. The festival featured elaborate Buddhist rituals, traditional ceremonies and the Pangtoed Chaam at Tsuklakhang Palace grounds in Gangtok. Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the celebrations.
