SIM binding made mandatory for WhatsApp, Telegram from today

SIM binding has become mandatory in India from today for messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. Accounts must remain linked to the active SIM used for registration. If the SIM is removed or inactive, access may be blocked until re-verification. The Department of Telecommunications introduced the rule to curb fraud and SIM-swap scams.
