Singapore police warn of malware spread through WhatsApp files

Singapore police have warned about a malware campaign in which hackers use hijacked WhatsApp accounts to send malicious work-related files to computer users. Disguised as invoices, account statements and salary documents, these attachments can infect computers when opened through WhatsApp Desktop or Web. The malware can record keystrokes, capture screenshots and allow remote access.
