Singing of Vande Mataram made compulsory in all madrasas of West Bengal

CM Suvendu Adhikari-led West Bengal government has made singing of Vande Mataram compulsory during morning assemblies in all madrasas across the state. Earlier, the state government made singing Vande Mataram mandatory in all school assemblies. The move follows a Home Ministry directive issued in January, which said Vande Mataram should be sung to mark 150 years of the national song.
