Sinkhole shuts down operations at New York’s LaGuardia Airport

A sinkhole was discovered near a main runway, which led to hundreds of flights being delayed and cancelled. According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the crew members identified the sinkhole roughly at 11:00 am Wednesday during a routine morning examination of the airfield. Runway 4/22 was taken out of use immediately and began repairs.
