Sinner meets new Pope after reaching Italian Open quarter-finals

World number one Jannik Sinner met newly elected Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on Wednesday after reaching the Italian Open quarter-finals. The 23-year-old was invited to the Vatican along with his parents and a delegation from the Italian Tennis Federation. Sinner, who returned after a three-month doping ban, gifted the Pope a racket and jokingly asked for a match.
