Six debt-ridden farmers die by suicide within 24 hours in Vidarbha

Six debt-ridden farmers died by suicide in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region within a 24-hour period on Friday and Saturday. A state government body said the farmers' crops were ruined due to the unprecedented rains and they failed to get fresh loans to sow their fields. Vidarbha has seen the most farmer deaths by suicide in Maharashtra in the past two years.
