Six-time Ligue 1 champs Bordeaux to play in 6th division of French football

Six-time French champion Bordeaux will play the current season in the sixth tier of French football, the Ligue de Football Nouvelle-Aquitaine confirmed. Bordeaux was sanctioned for failing to provide around €10 million required for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 financial years and to meet debt payments. Bordeaux was sold last month for a symbolic €1 to US-based investment group Park Bench.
