Skoda to invest in EVs manufacturing in India despite tax dispute

Skoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer announced plans to manufacture EVs in India, with or without a local partner. The company faces a ₹12,173 crore tax dispute in India, which may rise to ₹24,346 crore if penalties are imposed. Skoda seeks joint venture but will proceed independently if necessary and is targeting India as a growth hub outside Europe, Zellmer added.
