Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, reacting to Suryakumar Yadav losing his captaincy and place in T20I team, called it a "landmark day in selection". He added that the decision could be taken as a precedent for future selections. "Could the captain of the defending champions have been dealt a slightly better deal than what he was dealt?" he asked.
