Pictures and videos from a Chinese city showed the sky taking on a blood-red hue due to a rare phenomenon. The sky in Zhoushan turned red on Saturday (May 7) causing panic, after which meteorological experts issued an explanation. The refraction and scattering of light from fishing boats due to more water in the atmosphere led to the colour change.
