Skype Co-founder's fintech startup Oriente gets $105 million

Hong Kong-based fintech startup Oriente, co-founded by Skype Co-founder Geoffrey Prentice, has raised $105 million funding to scale its business across Southeast Asia. It was raised from investors including members of the Berjaya Group, JG Summit Holdings, and Sinar Mas. Established in 2017, Oriente uses AI to provide real-time credit scoring, on-demand lending and other financial solutions.
