Slavko Vinčić breaks down in tears after being named referee for FIFA WC final

Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić broke down in tears after FIFA appointed him to officiate the 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain on Monday (IST). The 46-year-old said he was "shaking" after receiving the news from FIFA refereeing chief Pierluigi Collina. Vinčić will become the first Slovenian ever to referee a men's World Cup final.
