Smart Cities Mission ends with 518 incomplete projects: Report

The Smart Cities Mission (SCM), launched in 2015, has reportedly failed to deliver on its promises. A senior official overseeing the project at the Centre has stated that the mission has "concluded," with no more funding from the government. However, as of April 2025, 518 projects worth ₹13,142 crore are incomplete. Corruption, extensive delays, and unfulfilled promises have derailed its vision.
