Smartphone app claims to detect eye diseases in kids via photos
US-based researchers have developed a free smartphone app called CRADLE (Computer Assisted Detector of Leukocoria) that claims to detect early signs of 'white eye' or leukocoria in children using photographs. It uses machine learning to look for 'white eye' reflections in photos which could be a symptom of retinoblastoma, cataract, etc. The app is available for Android and iPhone devices.
