Smith opens the batting for first time after 551 innings in his 13-year career

Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith came out as an opener against Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2020 match on Tuesday. This is the first time in his 13-year-long professional cricket career that Smith is batting as an opener. He had batted at other positions in all of his 551 innings prior to this.
