Smokers who switch to vaping face double the heart attack risk than those who quit: ICMR study
Smokers who switch to vaping or e-cigarettes face a 2.52 times higher risk of having a heart attack and 1.73 times higher risk of stroke than those who quit entirely, according to an ICMR-led study. Terming this the "harm reduction trap", the study's co-lead author said, "True harm reduction means quitting." The study analysed over 1.2 million participants' data.
