Smriti Irani backs Salman, says 'Social media not licence to hurt'

Actress-politician Smriti Irani said social media is being used to "target and humiliate" celebrities after Salman Khan slammed trolls for the same. "Social media...democratised right to be heard...But somewhere along the way, some began to mistake that freedom for a licence to hurt," wrote Smriti, asking, "Why should stepping into public life mean stepping away from the right to dignity?"
