SMS asking people to install APK file to redeem SBI rewards is fake

People are receiving fake SMS asking them to download and install an APK file to redeem SBI rewards. The fact-checking unit of the government, PIB Fact Check, took to X to clarify that "State Bank of India never sends links or APK files over SMS/WhatsApp". "Never download unknown files or click on such links," it added.
