The Darcha-Shinkula-Padum road in Lahaul-Spiti district was closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday following fresh snowfall in the region, prompting the district police to restrict tourist movement in the interest of public safety. The strategically important route connects the Lahaul valley of Himachal with the Zanskar valley of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
