Social media users posting on current affairs can come under I&B oversight: Official

Social media users posting news and current affairs could now fall under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s (MIB) regulatory framework, The Print reported, quoting the ministry's Secretary S Krishnan. The secretary confirmed that India's draft IT rule amendments go beyond registered publishers to ordinary users. "Today, with citizen journalism, this is a grey area," he said.
