SoftBank held talks with investors on going private: Report

The SoftBank Group was looking to go private and was in talks with hedge fund Elliott Management and Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala, Financial Times reported. But, talks failed because an investor consortium couldn't be formed on short notice. SoftBank instead decided to sell $41 billion in assets to pay debt and increase a share buyback to $22.42 billion.
