SoftBank sets highest-ever coupon on $1.6-billion bond sale
SoftBank Group has set a 5.12% coupon for a ¥260 billion ($1.6 billion) subordinated bond sale, the highest rate on its yen-denominated debt. The offering is aimed primarily at retail investors and exceeds the 4.97% coupon on its first retail bond offering of the fiscal year in April. The fundraising comes as SoftBank ramps up AI investments, including in OpenAI.
