Soil washes away due to rain on UNESCO World Heritage Kalka-Shimla track, rail track hangs in air

The soil beneath the railway line on the Kalka-Shimla railway track, a UNESCO World Heritage site, washed away due to heavy rains, leaving the rail track hanging in the air. The incident occurred at the bridge between Gumman and Taksal railway stations. The railway officials cancelled all train services on the Kalka-Shimla track today and restoration work has begun.
