NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center has forecast geomagnetic storm conditions for August 2, following the expected arrival of a coronal mass ejection released by the Sun on July 30. Auroras could appear across northern Europe and parts of the northern US. Possible effects include high-latitude radio disruption, satellite drag and power-grid voltage alarms.
