Solicitor General warns against Political PIL - What is the Law?

During the electoral bonds hearing in the Supreme Court, the Solicitor General of India warned against politically motivated Public Interest Litigation (PIL). PIL can be filed to highlight a breach of public duty by the government. However, it should not be filed for personal gain, private motive or political motives, otherwise exemplary costs can be imposed by the Court.
