Somali referee, who was denied entry to US, to officiate UEFA Super Cup

Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate UEFA Super Cup 2026 match in Salzburg on August 12, UEFA said. Artan, who'd been expected to become first Somali to officiate a FIFA World Cup match, was denied entry to US ahead of tournament. A US official had alleged Artan was denied entry due to his "association with suspected members of terror organisations".
