Somali referee denied entry into USA for FIFA World Cup has suspected terror ties: US official

A US official said Somali football referee Omar Artan was denied entry into the country ahead of the FIFA World Cup due to his alleged "association with suspected members of terror organisations". US Customs and Border Protection earlier said Artan was stopped at Miami International Airport on Saturday over "vetting concerns". Artan told NYT he was questioned for 11 hours.
