Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk admitted that some of the things he tweeted were "definitely extremely dumb", adding he "would like to retract them". When asked why he tweets at all, Musk replied, "It's a means of communicating directly to people without...going through press...It's hard to make everyone happy...You can either say things that aren't controversial...and then you're boring."
