Some zeros missing: OpenAI CEO on rival DeepSeek's 'lowcost' claim

Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT maker OpenAI, took a dig at China's DeepSeek for claiming its AI model was built at a low cost of just $6 million. Altman, who's visiting India, said, "I was extremely sceptical of the cost number. It was like, there are some zeros missing." Industry analysts estimate DeepSeek's total hardware investment surpasses $500 million.
