Someone had to become PM, so line was drawn to divide India: PM on Partition

PM Narendra Modi on Thursday said in Lok Sabha that "someone had to become the Prime Minister, so a line was drawn and India was divided". He was talking about Partition of India and added that Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities were "oppressed in Pakistan". He further said that Jawaharlal Nehru was in favour of protecting minorities in Pakistan.
