Someone told me not to cast Amitabh Bachchan in 'Sholay': Ramesh Sippy

Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy has revealed that someone once told him not to cast Amitabh Bachchan in 1975 film 'Sholay'. "I was...told, 'Is Lambu ko bilkul mat lena (Don't take the tall guy)'," he added. The filmmaker further said that Amitabh was not recognised as a star at that time but became the biggest star of the cast after the film.
