The London-based British Museum recently tweeted, "Asian names can be confusing, so we have to be careful about using too many." It was responding to a question about making information accessible to a wider range of people, during its #AskACurator session with "Keeper of Asia" Jane Portal. The museum apologised after being criticised by Twitter users.
