Sons confirm death of last US defector to North Korea

The only US soldier known to be living in North Korea after defecting more than five decades ago, James Dresnok, died last year pledging loyalty to the "great (North Korean) leader Kim Jong-un", his sons have said. Dresnok, who deserted the US after the Korean war, suffered a fatal stroke in November last year aged 74, they added.
